Building on our experience in branding, design and marketing, we set up a successful design-led brand in 2015. Featured in Wallpaper*, Elle Deco, FT How To Spend It, and stocked in Selfridges and Fortnum & Mason, the brand has built a strong reputation for quality and style. We’ve achieved this by getting to know our customers, telling rich genuine stories about where our products are made, and expressing the values behind the brand. Now we’ve set up Ames&Co to help other values-led businesses to the same.

We believe in authentic storytelling and shared values, to help customers choose your product or service over the competition. We practise an understated, visually-led form of communications, in place of the discount culture we’ve all grown tired of, and which no longer resonates with well-informed customers.

We’re passionate about meeting people and getting under the skin of a brand, understanding the mindset of your customers and helping you articulate precisely what sets you apart, as well as the future vision that drives your work. We believe that clarity around they key ideas is essential to effective marketing. And as a side effect, our clients often tell us the process is enjoyable and insightful for them in many other areas of the business.

As founders ourselves, we have first-hand experience of running a small business. Our creative, pragmatic strategies help you focus your energy in the right places, so that valuable time and resources go towards creating real impact.

We get excited by action, and frustrated by ‘just talking about it.’ So whilst we usually start with conversations and some strategic thinking, the bit that matters most is putting it all into action. Amy Cooper-Wright

Amy is a passionate storyteller, with over 15 years experience across branding, design, marketing and creating her own design-led brand.

Amy holds a BA from Oxford University in Philosophy and French, and an MA from University of the Arts London in Graphic Design.

As project director for design agencies including AIG EdenSpiekermann and Pentagram, she worked with clients such as TfL, Heathrow Airport, Fabergé and Café Royal Hotel.

In 2015 she founded the British stationery brand Mark+Fold. Since 2022 she has worked as a Marketing Director for Mark+Fold, Cockpit Studios and a range of independent clients.

Working with us

We provide thoughtful, effective support with all aspects of marketing and brand strategy.

We can work on an ad-hoc basis, or on a fractional basis as an in-house Marketing Director but without the long-term financial commitment. Some clients meet with us for regular Strategy Sessions, where we act as a thoughtful, focused collaborator to help you make key decisions, define priorities, or get hands-on with a specific communications task. Others come to us with a clear objective in mind, and we design and lead a structured process to achieve that objective and deliver a clear set of priorities and a practical action plan to guide your next steps.
